Emergency Unmet Needs Fund

Barrier Busters connects residents with emergency financial help through its Unmet Needs Fund, which member agencies use to prevent evictions, stop utility shut-offs, and cover urgent costs that threaten housing or financial stability. Residents in crisis work directly with their existing provider, who can quickly access these funds to address immediate needs.

Weatherization and Energy Efficiency

The Weatherization Assistance Program offers free weatherization services to eligible Washtenaw County residents. Administered by Washtenaw County in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, the program helps households reduce utility costs by conducting a free energy audit and providing qualifying home repairs at no cost. Both homeowners and renters who meet the eligibility criteria may apply.
